UCL Review: Galatasaray 1-4 Arsenal (A perfect response)

10849860_10152698881567713_3802933478960659591_n

It was a perfect response to last weekends demoralizing defeat to Stoke City as Arsenal ended their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign with a 4-1 win over Galatasaray in Turkey. This victory helped the Gunners to finish level on points with Dortmund although the German side won the group on goal difference.

It was a great night for both Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey as they both scored a brace each. Podolski’s 2nd minute left footed strike was bettered by Ramsey’s long range left footed screamer. Ramsey’s goal was probably the best goal of the season so far and it was a treat to watch that goal.

Arsene Wenger must be very relieved after seeing his team respond in such a grand fashion. It’s just about keeping this spirit together from now onward and move forward.

UCL Preview: Galatasaray vs. Arsenal (Need a response)

Arsenal-galatasaray-1409515459

After another frustrating loss in the Barclays Premier League, Arsenal will now travel to Turkey to play their final group game of this season’s UEFA Champions League. Gunners’ chances of finishing first is very little so this match will not harm Arsenal even if they lose but knowing that they have already lost a lot of games this season and especially after that humiliating loss against Stoke at the weekend, the men in red & white needs to show that they care about the fans.

TEAM NEWS: Debuchy is back while many of the top stars will be rested for the weekend.

Arsenal fans have been divided now more than ever before and that was coming after all the disappointments. Wenger was even booed off while boarding the bus to London back from Stoke and even though that is disrespectful but the anger of the fans is completely valid as well. Wenger has only himself to blame for all this because after that FA Cup win and the PUMA deal, the fans really trusted him to take this club to the next level after 9 years of rebuilding and paying off the debts but Wenger didn’t do that. He stuck to his old, stubborn ways and that is the main reason why the fans are so angry with what’s happening with the club at the moment.

EPL Review: Stoke City 3-2 Arsenal (No commitment on the pitch and on the bench)

10359153_10152691366442713_5632468800458989969_n

No commitment was shown on the pitch as well as from the bench as Arsenal’s disastrous season got more sickening as Arsenal lost 3-2 away to Stoke City.

It took just 20 seconds for Stoke to take the lead against the Gunners. The Arsenal players were completely out of focus from the very beginning and it got worse as the half progressed. Stoke were 3-0 up at half-time. That scoreline is pathetic and disgraceful for a team like Arsenal Football Club. The manager just kept on sitting on his bench and didn’t do anything to motivate the players. This shows the lack of passion the manager has for his job anymore. He doesn’t answer any of his critics nor he listens to the fans of the football club. He just think what’s good for him and his players and how to finish in the top 4. That’s his only ambition and it has been his ambition ever since we moved to the Emirates Stadium.

Even though the Gunners pulled two goals back from a Santi Cazorla penalty goal and a Ramsey screamer it was too little too late at the end as Calum Chambers red card offence totally killed all the momentum Arsenal mananged to gain in the second half.

EPL Preview: Stoke City vs. Arsenal (Need to keep going)

Stoke-vs-Arsenal-

After 2 back to back narrow wins in the league, Arsenal will now travel to the daunting Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City. The Gunners have always struggled at the Britannia Stadium but they are now in a situation to win at all cost to stay in touch with the top 4 teams.

TEAM NEWS: Gibbs could be back while Theo Walcott is still out.

Alexis Sanchez’s late winner against Southampton helped the Gunners to keep in close touch with the top 4 sides and the Gunners would need to keep that winning spirit alive if they are to beat a strong Stoke side. After the loss to Manchester United, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is now under the spotlight and he will be criticized for every single mistake he makes so it’s necessary that the players respond and prove to people that all is not wrong at Arsenal Football Club.

EPL Review: Arsenal 1-0 Southampton (Alexis to the rescue)

10846216_10152683278212713_7910132630230569876_n

Alexis Sanchez to the rescue as Arsenal secured their 2nd consecutive league game win after a 1-0 win over Southampton at Emirates Stadium in the Barclays Premier League.

It was a big match as Southampton are enjoying one of their finest starts to a season ever so Arsenal needed to stay calm and composed. It was a tight affair with both sides cancelling one another out until the very last minute of the match. But, it was Arsenal who were able to break the deadlock in the 89th minute through an opportunistic goal from the man himself Alexis Sanchez. This win moves the Gunners up a place to 6th in the Barclays Premier League table.

EPL Preview: Arsenal vs. Southampton (Can we go on a winning run now?)

Can the Gunners go on a winning run now will the the question on every Arsenal fans mind right now as they prepare to play a run of important games to end 2014.

TEAM NEWS: Monreal and Gibbs are doubts, Szczesny is still out while Debuchy and Ospina are two weeks away.

Southampton thrashed Arsenal earlier in the season in the Capital One Cup so the Gunners knows that this is a big game. Southampton are also having one of their finest start to a season as currently they are sitting pretty inside the top 4. So, after last week’s 1-0 win against West Brom, the Gunners will need to put on another positive performance if they are to beat a team that’s inside the top 4 for the first time this season.

EPL Review: West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Arsenal (Much better performance)

10372177_10152674237047713_1655032401848220388_n

It was a much better performance from Arsenal as they beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at the Hawthorns to get their first league game win after 2 consecutive losses.

The Gunners needed to be patient and solid and Laurent Koscielny’s return to the squad had massively benefited our defense. It took the Gunners 60 minutes to finally break the deadlock through a great cross from Santi Cazorla which was headed in fantastically by Danny Welbeck. Although the final 10 minutes was a bit nervous, the boys stayed solid and were able to finish the line and get all 3 points at the end of the day.

EPL Preview: West Bromwich Albion vs. Arsenal (It’s time to get serious)

It’s time to get serious as after a rejuvenating big match win against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal will now travel to the Hawthorns to face a daunting task against West Bromwich Albion in the Barclays Premier League.

TEAM NEWS: Jack Wilshere is out for 3 months with an ankle injury, Szczesny and Walcott are still out while Danny Welbeck faces a late fitness test. Koscielny is back in the squad.

In the pre-match interview, Wenger has made clear that in order to have a strong finish to the season his side needs to improve and build on the win against Dortmund until February of 2015 and for that they must take 3 points from this match up. The Gunners have been very poor in the league so far and if not for Alexis Sanchez they would have been struggling amongst the relegation area. With injuries piling up with each match, Arsenal needs to dig deep and find inspiration through some way to at least continue their yearly routine finish inside the top 4.

UCL Review: Arsenal 2-0 Borussia Dortmund (15th consecutive knockout stage qualification)

10437458_10152668609507713_105316780939126842_n

Arsenal have sealed their qualification into the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League for the 15th consecutive year after an impressive and controlled 2-0 win against the German giants Borussia Dortmund.

It was a much effective and controlled performance from the Gunners after last weekends miserable defeat at home to Manchester United. The whole team defended as a team and attacked as a unit which had been lacking from the team so far this season. Arsenal went 1-0 up in the 2nd minute of the game through a goal from the returning Yaya Sanogo and after that it was all about keeping focus and not let the other team comeback. Arsenal doubled their lead in the second half through an extraordinary goal from the man himself Alexis Sanchez. The men in red & white won the game 2-0 and cut the gap to just 2 points to Dortmund heading into the final group game against Galatasaray in Turkey.

UCL Preview: Arsenal vs. Borussia Dortmund (All we can do is “Support”)

ArsenalUCLBD

All we as fans can do is “support” the team at this moment of time as after a disappointing loss to Manchester United at the weekend, it’s now time for our final home UEFA Champions League group game of the season as we prepare to host the German giants Borussia Dortmund.

TEAM NEWS: Laurent Koscielny is back in the squad while Jack Wilshere, Szczesny and Theo Walcott are out with injuries.

Most of the Arsenal fan base have lost their faith in Arsene Wenger and quite rightly so. The manager deserves all the criticism in the world and he must accept his failures and show proper respect to the fans of the club. Besides that, we as fans can’t do anything about the internal matters of the club as the board is happy with what Wenger has given them over the last decade or so. After two back to back losses in the league, the pressure is more than ever before on the shoulders of the players and the manager and with Borussia Dortmund enjoying a 100% win record in the Champions League so far, the immediate future looks very rough for the Gunners.
